Patience is a Virtue That is Hard to Get

"I posted it on Instagram."

"What?!"

"Hehe.."

'Main-main je kot budak nih.'

-after 20 minutes-

"I posted all the pictures on Instagram."

"What??!!"
'Gambar apa lagi dia upload nih??'
(upset)

Another cousin comes by,

"Kesian akak. Bobby buat apa kat akak?"

"Hmm.. Takde apa. (still upset) Irfan, tolong ambik phone aunty. Nak bukak Insta."

Irfan gives phone. Bobby comes, takes phone, logs on to Insta.

"What pictures did you upload? (trying best to contain anger)"

"What pictures?"

"(frowns) Can you delete it? Delete laa.."

"(shows picture) It's just this one."

"(frowns)"

"Bobby delete la bobby, kesian kakak."

"(deletes) Okay done."

"(relieved but still tries containing anger) Hmmm..."

Sometimes people test you to the limits, they cross the lines and borders. I guess patience really helps a lot in vanquishing inner demons and outer conflicts. Imagine if she smacked and shouted at the kid, a bigger commotion might have happened. At the end of the day, I bet it's Allah testing our patience to see if we really do practice what we preach.
